Who we Are
Leo Thompson is the founder of Edsplorer and a trusted voice in international education. He is known for his writing, creative visuals and speaking, and is a Distinguished Fellow at IFIP having spoken at various conferences on inclusion, including at UNESCO and BETT.
Accreditation and Learning-to-Learn: Before establishing Edsplorer, Leo spent five years with a leading accreditation agency, the Council of International Schools, as a School Support and Evaluation Officer. His comparative insight comes from working closely with nearly 80 renowned schools globally in a supportive capacity. He was also Head of Educational Partnerships at iCanStudy, the learning-to-learn specialists, focused on educational future research and innovation. Born in Australia and raised in the UK, he now lives in Vienna, Austria with his family. He has lived outside the UK for over 20 years, as a teacher and a school leader, dividing his time between the Middle East and Austria.

A real explorer, Mat, is Director and founder of Polaris Outdoor, who specialises in expeditions to remote, desert, high altitude mountain, jungle and arctic environments. He has worked with the Natural History Museum and the Bear Grylls production team. His team have led many amazing student and leader expeditions prioritising safety, personal development and team work.
Based in Brussels, Elizabeth is an internationally renowned occupational therapist with 25 years of experience empowering children, families, and schools worldwide. Using her unique lens as a therapist, mother, and student who struggled, she now drives systemic change in education, healthcare, and family health. She is passionate about advocating for neurodiverse children.
Based in Baku, Francesco is a popular speaker, author and school leader at the European Azerbaijan School. His quest in education is to nurture empowered, compassionate, and globally-minded learners who are prepared to navigate and lead in a complex world.
